The Story

Callwen ‘Cad’ Cadwaladr guards a secret. One that if revealed will leave her dreams in tatters.

When tragedy strikes, she is imprisoned in Catrin Castle’s high tower, unable to help her family.

With the help of her friends, Rhys and Dylan, can she escape her dungeon and save her brother, Prince John?

As she sneaks through the castle at night, discovering baffling ciphers and secret maps, Cad realises that all at Catrin is not what it seems. In her new life of spying, lies, suspicions and magic, she must cool her hot head and rescue her brother.

As the quest to save Prince John unfolds, can Cad find the traitors seeking to crush Prince Llywelyn? Or will she and her brother remain trapped and forever forgotten?

How to Use the Novel

On every page, key words are in bold, and each has a correlated footnote with a concise definition. The words are defined using the context in which they appear in the text, and definitions are as child-friendly as possible. Chosen key words are defined only once, usually when they first appear in the story, unless they appear again in a different context. Synonyms and antonyms, where applicable, are also provided.
